When we talk to lawyers about their biggest time sinks, legal research consistently tops the list. Whether racing against a filing deadline or trying to give quick guidance to a product team, the hours spent searching for relevant precedent can feel endless. And with laws, regulations and cases being decided at an increased rate, lawyers today are forced to stay up-to-date by following weekly newsletters or relying on preset alerts for their specific focus area.
But this is a bandaid; it’s not efficient, fast or scalable. This is where Jurist can help.
Announcing Jurist Online Mode: 40+ verified online legal sources at your fingertips (Bluebook citations included)
Today we are excited to announce that Jurist can now perform real-time legal analysis through its access to verified, globally accredited, legal websites. By bringing Jurist online, customers get the up-to-date legal knowledge they need to make informed decisions in a matter of seconds.
Built to help lawyers draft, edit, and review contracts and other ancillary legal documents, Jurist connects to more than 60 verified legal websites providing attorneys the information they need to do their work. Through a combination of generative AI and specially trained AI agents, Jurist can analyze cases, statutes, and regulatory guidance from the sites, then synthesize that information into clear, actionable memos complete with Bluebook citations and direct links to source documents.
As the margin for error in legal work is razor thin, by showing its work, Jurist gives lawyers the ability to quickly verify all information listed in the memos it produces, giving them the piece of mind needed to move quickly.
Instant access to get started faster and work more confidently
When beginning a new project, performing legal research floats to the top of every attorney’s to-do list. For in-house attorneys, this typically means working with outside counsel, and for attorneys at law firms, this means partnering with counsel specialized in the particular area of work.
Jurist simplifies research so attorneys can get started faster and be more confident in its outputs–regardless of their areas of focus. From helping litigation teams accelerate research and automatically flagging contrary authority to streamlining product counsel’s regulatory monitoring or providing employment lawyers with instant multi-jurisdictional updates, Jurist can speed up the entire process. And since all sources are cited, legal teams can quickly verify accuracy and make changes where needed.
We’ve made the web available to Jurist because we believe legal research shouldn’t be a bottleneck. Whether you’re on a team of 5 or at a major firm, having analyzed legal information immediately at your fingertips means better work product in less time. It means being able to give clients answers faster. And most importantly, it means lawyers can focus on what they do best – applying their judgment and expertise to solve complex problems.
Two Way document sync in Microsoft Word
Along with online mode, today the Jurist team also released an integration allowing for 2-way document sync in Microsoft Word. Attorneys can now apply AI to any document in Jurist, then port the document over to Word and continue editing anything from copy to formatting. When the user closes the window, all modifications will be updated automatically in Jurist—all with unique formatting to track changes—ensuring documents are always up to date and in sync, regardless of which environment you prefer to work in. It also eliminates the cumbersome process of keeping track of edits through manual upload and download.
Our team is excited to roll out even more updates to Jurist in the new year. If you’re interested to see how Jurist works in the wild, reach out to our team for a demo and learn what’s possible when AI meets legal research.
